24th International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering

Guidelines for Presenters

Invited, Keynote & Oral Presentations

Each session track will be moderated by a Chair and Co-chair. Each track will have a combination of 20-minute Oral and Invited presentations. Some tracks will also have a 40-minute Keynote presentation. Speakers with a 20-minute slot should plan to speak for 15-17 minutes, and Keynote speakers should plan to speak for 35 minutes, with the remaining time to be used for questions and the transition time including speaker introductions by the session chair or co-chair.

Due to the tight presentation schedule, you will need to bring your presentation (on your laptop) to the meeting room at least 15 minutes in advance of the START of the session. We will have student assistants in each room and a switching device so that we can quickly switch from laptop to laptop in between talks. We will have an area setup near the projector so that your laptop can stay powered and hooked up to our switcher.

In order to use the switcher, your laptop must have a VGA port or be able to have an adapter to enable connection to a VGA cable.

If you do not have a laptop or your laptop does not have the correct port you can bring your presentation on a thumb drive. We will have a session laptop available for this purpose. However, due to the fact that using a different laptop can sometimes result in unforeseen issues, we strongly urge you to allow us to use your laptop since you have already tested your presentation on it. That said, we strongly urge you to ALSO bring your presentation on a thumb drive, just in case there is an issue with your laptop. That way we can quickly move it to the session laptop.

We will also have a remote slide advancer with laser pointer, but you are welcome to use your own to avoid the time required to install the software driver onto your laptop.

Presenter Guidelines

  • PowerPoint slides should be prepared for a widescreen (16:9) format for best readability with our projection parameters.
  • Internet will NOT be provided.
  • Test the readability of your presentation before the meeting.

Poster Presentations (Contributed Papers)

ISCRE 24 will have 2 poster sessions. Both will be located in the Promenade & Lake Calhoun, Lake Minnetonka and Lake Harriet Rooms on the 4th Level.

  • Monday, June 13 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, June 14, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Posters will be assigned to one of these two sessions and authors will be notified in mid-May.

During the poster sessions, light refreshments and a beer and wine bar will also be available.

Poster Specifications

The poster boards will be double sided. Each poster presentation will have ONE SIDE of a panel. The poster area will be: width = 72 in (183 cm) and height = 48 in (122 cm). The poster boards will be on stands.

Authors will be assigned a poster board in the designated poster area. Posters can be put up during the afternoon before the assigned poster session. The posters must be taken down IMMEDIATELY after the poster session concludes. Posters left on the boards will be taken down and not returned.

Tables, chairs, internet and electrical hookup will NOT be provided.

Poster Guidelines

  • Use lightweight materials (not cardboard). Pushpins must be able to hold them when mounted to the poster board. Pushpins will be provided.
